Jungle Marathon 2007
Welcome to the Jungle Marathon 2008
Following the success of our fourth edition, and the continued welcome and assistance we have received from Paratur, Ibama and the local communities, we will once again be holding our race in the stunning State of Para- often referred to as the Caribbean of the Amazon.Our competitors will have the choice of two distances: 200km or 100km, which will be completed in stages throughout the week. The longer distance will include six stages and the shorter will include four. We may also be introducing a third stand alone event.
Runners will once again be self-sufficient. They will be required to carry their foods and provisions during the race and we will provide them with bottled water at designated checkpoints.
Nights will be spent sleeping in hammocks at campsites along the shores of the Tapajos river. Competitors will be required to provide their own hammocks which should include a mosquito net and rain fly sheet.
